TUS Workers

The Ray Community Group is delighted to continue to have the assistance of Dessie Crerand and Sean Griffin in their  roles of Caretaker and Office Administrator under the TUS scheme until the autumn. We are delighted to have them both on board and they are both doing vital work in helping to get the Ray Community Centre ready for opening.

Further Applications

The Ray Community Group submitted a further application to LEADER for funding to install a lift, kitchen and signage and we hope to hear from them soon.

In May the Ray Community Group also forwarded an application for the 2012 Sports Capital Programme from the National Lottery for sporting equipment for the main hall including lining it out for various sports, drainage of the football pitch, resurfacing of the tennis court and a new fence for the tennis court. We are due to hear from them in November.

Request from Community Members

As part of our long term fundraising strategy the Ray Community Group committee have decided to concentrate on one main fundraiser and we are asking  everyone in the local and surrounding community to consider contributing €5 per week to the ‘Take Your Pick’ which takes place every Sunday night in the Beachcomber Bar in Rathmullan. This would entail picking 3 numbers and these numbers would be entered weekly for the ‘Take Your Pick’ draw where you have 3 chances of winning the jackpot.

This will have 2 benefits

 1.  Allow the committee to plan for the long term  financial security of the Community Centre

 2. Give participants the chance of winning the jackpot which is currently €400 and has been won 15 times

since ‘Take Your Pick’ commenced in October 2010.

We would particularly like to thank everyone who has signed up to our database and would be delighted to hear from other members of the community who would like to participate as the Community Centre is for everyone to avail of.
